FDA can no longer adequately protect the nation's food and drug supply, according to a new report by a U.S. Food and Drug Administration subcommittee, which lays the blame squarely on inadequate funding that has not kept pace with increasing demands on the agency. The report also calls for better-trained FDA scientists and improvements in the agency's computer technology. The full report will be presented at a meeting of the FDA's Science Board, according to The Washington Post.
